Current Happenings ... Oct '24

We want to first THANK YOU for dancing with us! We truly appreciate and are so glad that you chose to continue or begin your child's dance education this season. Fun, friends and learning in a safe environment allows the children to be active and enjoy the many benefits of exercise and social interaction with their peers. We look forward to an amazing 32nd year of dance!

We appreciate your referrals and shares of our social media posts to continue to grow our programs. We will accept enrollment throughout the season both for new students and to add new subjects to your schedule.

Current Protocols ...

  • Thank you for your continued cooperation to keep everyone healthy this season.  If your child is ill and contagious, we ask that you keep them home from dance to recover.
  • Hand sanitizer is readily available throughout our studio for everyone's use.
  • In order to limit capacity and congestion in our pre-class areas, parents are encouraged to drop off and pickup after class. Our staff will be sure to dismiss dancers directly to you at the end of class.

Dancers Give Back

  • What is DGB? Dancers Give Back is a WNY community-wide dance event to raise money for Roswell Park and the Jacquie Hirsch for ALL Foundation. DGB was founded in memory of our dear friend and former student, Jacquie Hirsch. The fundraiser will be held on November 23 from 2-9 PM at Amherst High School. All WNY dancers and families are encouraged to attend!
  • The DGB Workshop is then held the next day (Nov 24) at UB Amherst Campus in the Center for the Arts with classes for ages 7 and up.
  • The Dancer's Deal is the perfect package to give your dancer a full weekend of inspiration and fun! Package includes main event admission, T-shirt, 1 60-minute class on Saturday and 5 60-minute classes on Sunday. The dancer's deal is $195 when ordered by October 28 through the SDD studio office.
  • How can I help? Gift baskets and raffle donations are needed. Donations can be dropped off at the studio office by November 9 and we will take them to the event organizers.
  • Volunteers are also needed to help run the event (great way to get school community service hours). If you are interested in helping out, please notify the office and we will pass along your information to the coordinators.
  • More info available at www.dancersgiveback.com. If you are planning to participate, stop by or email the office for more information.

Start of Season Reminders

  • Dress Code is important for all students to follow. A neat & tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for students, teachers and the art of dance. Dress code also allows the teacher to see the dancer's body outline clearly in order to make proper corrections on posture/alignment. Students must wear a leotard with tights for class with their hair fully pulled back off the face, hair in a secure bun allows you to dance your best! For safety reasons, please do not wear necklaces, long earrings, watches/fit-bits.
  • Dancers should not leave the building without a parent or guardian. Please be on time picking up after class and park near or walk to your child's dismissal door. Dancers waiting for their ride after the next class begins will wait at the front door. If you are running a bit late, please plan to pick up there.
  • Dancers, please bring a small dance bag and a labeled water bottle with you to class. Labeling your dance shoes with your name or initials prevents mix-ups. Please leave valuables or jewelry at home and silence cell phones and keep inside your bag. Dance Dynamics will not be responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced items.

Thank you for being a part of the SDD family! If you have any questions or need assistance of any kind, please feel free to contact our office.
